New companies in North West
North West saw 1,664 new companies incorporated in the week of 19 October to 25 October 2026, about the same as the year-earlier weekly average (adjusted for companies dissolved since). About 667 of them are expected to trade, judging by what happened to similar companies. Rising this week: Public administration, Water & waste. Among companies formed in the last 8 weeks, 1,030 already have a website verified as theirs and 291 have registered food premises.

For accountants, accounts due: 53,846 companies in North West have accounts due in the next three months and are not registered at an accountant's address. They've filed trading accounts before, are current on their confirmation statement and are registered at their own address (8,856 within a month, 9,683 in one to two, 35,307 in two to three); 2,904 more are already overdue but not yet in strike-off. Counted from the office changes filed at Companies House, against the addresses where accountancy firms are registered.

Of the 134,896 companies formed in North West between January 2022 and September 2023 at their own address, 49% were still on the register three years later and 33% had filed trading accounts (UK: 51% and 35%).
