New companies in Eastbourne

Eastbourne saw 18 new companies incorporated in the week of 19 October to 25 October 2026, about the same as the year-earlier weekly average (adjusted for companies dissolved since). About 8 of them are expected to trade, judging by what happened to similar companies; 17% were registered at a mass-formation or virtual-office address, so 15 were formed at their own address. Among companies formed in the last 8 weeks, 15 already have a website verified as theirs and 2 have registered food premises.

What happens to them

Of the 1,525 companies formed in Eastbourne between January 2022 and September 2023 at their own address, 57% were still on the register three years later and 38% had filed trading accounts, ranking 148th of 357 councils (UK: 51% and 35%; South East: 57% and 39%). Eastbourne ranks joint 179th of 361 councils for the number of new high street companies in 2025.

Across the UK, the trade codes chosen by new companies rose 36% between 2019 and 2025, partly because founders now pick more codes for each company, so a rise in one trade can simply keep pace with the register. A company can choose up to four trade codes, so one company can appear in two rows and is counted in the total once for each.
